Behind the screen: a look at the LifeLines office

It has been too long since I posted a new blog, and I attribute that to a digital move as well as a physical move. My last post foreshadowed my website’s move to InMotion Hosting (which I may post more about later). This post offers a glimpse of the physical move of the LifeLines office.

The digital world we inhabit allows us to “meet” thousands of people online, while remaining behind the safety of a computer screen. But—online as well as in person—the most successful relationships are built by allowing people to see more and more of yourself.

This is what the office looked like in June, before I moved in. Everything was clean and solid, and I could see a lot of potential.

After taking possession in late August, my first step was to add a little life to the walls, painting them in two tones of green.

The colors of course look different at different times of day. Here is the office fully furnished, early this morning. My next step will be to add some wall hangings. I have a few ideas, but I need to let them gel first, before I pound any nails into that fresh paint.

So now you know a little more about me. When I am editing your manuscript, or crafting your fundraising proposal, or setting up your website, this is usually where I’m working from. We might only ever interact screen to screen, but this gives you a sense of how things look behind the screen.

Let me know in the comments if you have any ideas for things to hang on my walls!
